Women Are Equipped--Does Not Mean They Are Called

Okay! This is going to be a sore topic and very unpopular, well at least my views which are God's. We all know and are slowly seeing all the blog postings about this coming election, especially since John McCain ruffled feathers and chose Palin, a female. First of all let me say that I am thankful to be a woman and I believe we are a pretty nifty group, we women. Women are usually multi-taskers. We women can nurse a baby, eat our lunch, take a phone call and instruct the older kids all without skipping a beat. God has blessed many women with great qualities and many have used their qualities to do great things for our nation. With all that said, God's word is clear that women have distinct roles, just as men do.(Proverbs 31:10-31) If you are gifted in a particular area that doesn't always mean God calls you to use that gift. Young wives are called to be in the home raising the children and tending to/helping their husbands. When our children are young there is so much to be done. To think that a woman can "have it all" may be true, but her family suffers for her gain. By the way, there are many things that many men may be gifted in that God does not want them to persue, like staying home with the children or being a passive/submissive husband.(Ephesians 5:22-33) There are even issues of a women/men deciding that God didn't make them right and they mam their bodies into what they think they should be. In one such case a woman made herself physically into a man and artificially impregnated herself.(1Corinthians 6:12-20) Just because she and the other woman were blessed with a baby does not mean that God allowed this unholy union! God does not tolerate homosexuality in any form!!! Be careful not to add or take away from the bible. There are things in the bible that were not ordained by God and yet society accepted it. If we truly have our faith in Christ and profess Him as our God, then we have to be living by His word and not twisting it to what we want it to say for our culture. God will rebuke those who do this. When you read God's word you have to realize what was societal norm (and sometimes against God) and what was God's will/commandment to His people. The issue of Deborah in the bible was a time when Israel had no men that would step up and lead their country (Judges 4-5). Deborah was elected to the position and God punished Israel. We have plenty of men willing for the position as commander in chief. One in particular who holds Godly values, like giving power to the people, lowering taxes, pro-life starting at conception, separating church and state, freedom to home school and the list goes on. This man is Ron Paul. He was unpopular on all the major networks. He didn't receive all the donations and publicity, but he continues to fight for we the people of our nation. I have heard many republicans who do not like their choice, and yet they are going to go to the poles and vote in someone who is better than the alternative. People do not know that we have the power to write-in our vote. That if enough people right in Ron Paul he can win the presidency. Do not think that you are throwing away your vote and increasing O'Bama's chances. We will one day have to give an account for ALL of our actions. God will not accept excuses. It is better to not vote at all than to vote for someone who does not hold Godly values. Please feel free to comment, but know that I moderate, so ugly words and rudeness will not make the cut! Thanks for reading.

Hey Megan~

While I appricate your view point, everything that you said about Ron Paul you could also say about John McCain. I don't understand the obsession with Ron Paul among reformed believers, but I'm sure that I would disagree with something that Ron Paul stands for, just as I disagree with John McCain on some things. One other point is that the government is not the church, while I do think that she should be home with her kids I also think that the Bible does not say who should run the government. God is my King not John McCain. I casted my vote for McCain on Thursday with no regrets, just as I casted my vote for Bush with no regrets. I don't agree completely with either one but again they are not the church they are the government.

Hey there Rochele and sister in Christ, I thank you for you input and interest in the subject. It all comes down to conviction. This is a matter Ryan and I feel convicted on and while yes we have so far found one thing we don't completely agree with Ron Paul on, we agree with far more than we do McCain/Palin. First off, Ron Paul's views have never wavered (to my knowledge) as McCain's have since he has been running for president. We personally don't feel comfortable sending into office a woman as we feel her primary role should be in her home. And while Vice President may not seem to be as demanding as the Presidency, let's remember who would feel McCain's spot if some unforeseen circumstance should happen. I look at her home with a pregnant daughter and down-syndrome son and I see that a mother is deeply needed. No we do not make the decision for her to run, but we do make the decision to send her on in to serve our country. I felt the same way you do about Ron Paul, before I really saught out about what he stands for. The problem is our liberal filled media boasts up a less conservative republican like McCain rather than the extremely conservative like Ron Paul. I agree with Ron Paul that the people should have the power, not the government. The government has no right to choose if my child gets to learn about God in school. The government doesn't have the right to choose if a baby can be murdered. We voted for Bush in the previous election, much to our deep regret. He was suppose to stand for pro-life, but not enough was done to end abortion in his eight years. That's all for now.

Megan
and peace with you all

Ok. I see what you are thinking, buuuuttttt I guess like I didn't get to vote in the primary election because Julia was born on election day (hence the early voting) so I figure that now that the primary election is over this is who God in His divine Sovereinty has given us to choose from. However if your conscience (and not others swaying your opinion) is truly telling you that you would be sinning to vote for McCain then the Bible says that it would be sin....so if you want to vote for Ron Paul do it with my blessing (like you wanted that lol)I would however encourage you to let others decide for themselves if it would be a sin in their minds.

PS Thanks for the help, I'm going to try it later and hopefully I won't need to bother you again.

Wow, this is the most comments I ever gotten on any one post. I do "let" others decide. I have never gone far and beyond to point people to Ron Paul. Do know, however, that the world in receiving much more encouragement to vote for McCain and OBama than I am doing for Ron Paul. It's no different than if I were to comment on christians celebrating santa claus or halloween. I don't beleive it is honoring to God to celebrate a fake idol in celebration of His birth, nor celebrating a paggon based halloween. I post on our blog what "we" are going through and if people want to read it they can. I in no way post things that are unscriptural, or at least I strive not to. And I have a loving husband who approves of what I write. I know many evangelical Christians (who are great friends) who will vote McCain and many others who will vote Ron Paul. I am always willing to hear them when they speak of McCain and so far I have been able to speak to them what I know about Ron Paul. Also, I'd like to say that God may have allowed these four individuals to win the primaries, but it doesn't mean he approves of it. Abortion laws were passed giving women the "freedom" to have abortions, but that doesn't mean God allows the murder of babies. Please know that you are never bothering me and I enjoy debating this topic. Hope that you tube works for you.

I enjoy this because nobody who votes for Ron Paul will debate it with me. Its interesting...I'm not saying that you can't post what you want to---its your blog. But you did say feel free to comment!! So I did (plus like your the only one I know who has a blog to comment on). We don't have to agree. I don't really care I'm just curious why you feel the way you do. I just see a radical over the top movement in the reformed faith that kinda weirds me out and Ron Paul is one of the things that these people always speak of. As long as your motivation has Christ and the Gospel at the center and not a life style I believe with my whole heart that God will bless it and you say your motivation is to please Him so may He bless you in your decision.

PS Can you tell I have found my new love????? BLOGGING!!!!

I agree that we don't have to agree! That's part of loving one another in Christ. Christian's aren't cookie cutters, we have differences! Ryan and I felt the same way you do about all the Ron Paul stuff--sounded kinda hippie like! Until we actually look at all the candidates objectively several weeks before the primaries. At the time of the primaries I liked Ron Paul but thought he was unlikely to get the Republican ticket in TN due far right beliefs. I contiplated voting Huckabee, but took my husbands advise and voted Paul. (I do feel this is a situation a couple should be equally yoked on) I have found more out about Ron Paul and when I really think about freedom and rights and realize what the government should and shouldn't have their hands in, I can understand where he is coming from and what he stands for. Thanks for chatting with me on this and being willing to hear my side as I am thankful that you even bring it up graciously. Yep, I really enjoying blogging, especially since I rarely get to spend time with other Christian women. It's really easier than it looks too! You're right, it all comes down to Christ and serving Him. EVERYTHING we do should be done in accordance with scripture. See we do agree on the foundation of it all :)
